Opening times

We want to support you as much as we can, so we have listened to parents and responded by changing our opening times to suit you (where possible). Opening times therefore vary from nursery to nursery.

See our individual nursery pages for nursery specific opening times.

Settling sessions for you and your child

We know how big a deal it is for you to leave your child with someone new. This is why we offer up to 3 settling sessions - and they are free! At your first settling session, these are the things we will go through with you:

  • Meet your key person who will be responsible for your child.
  • Meet all our staff.
  • Complete a “Getting to Know You” form so we can find out what your child’s routines are, what they like and dislike.
  • We will run through routines and activities.
  • We will discuss how we will assess your child and how we will feed back about your child’s progress.
  • We will discuss the security procedures if you wish someone else to collect your child.
  • View our Company Policy and procedures.
  • We will disccuss health care plans if appropriate.
  • We will discuss any special educational needs your child might have including gifted and talented.
  • We will go through our Complaints Procedure with you.
  • It is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions.

Security

We take security very seriously in all of our nurseries and pre-schools. The security and welfare of your child is paramount to us. We have a strict policy of NO mobile phones, laptops or computers in our settings. All visitors, without exception, have to sign in any device at Reception before entering the nursery.

Only those who have authority to collect children will be allowed to take a child home. We ask that anyone else collecting your child other than the usual person be given a password so that we are sure we have your permission.

We also ask for an emergency number so you can be contacted at any time.

What to bring with you

We ask that each child comes to nursery and pre-school with sufficient clothes for their daily needs plus a spare set as we like our children to take part in messy activities and also in case of "accidents".

In the summer months, we ask that you bring sunhats and an adequate sun screen; and in the winter months wellington boots, gloves and suitable outdoor clothing to ensure that your child can enjoy our outside areas.

All clothes should be clearly labelled. Parents of babies and children who are not fully toilet trained are asked to provide enough nappies to last the day.

Parents are asked to ensure that children do not bring valuable items with them, as we cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage.

Formula for babies

Baby milk is not provided by the nursery. Formula or expressed milk must be supplied by the parent/carer in bottles clearly labelled with your child’s name. Weaning foods must be supplied in clearly labelled containers. All milk and food must be passed to the Nursery Manager or Keyperson on arrival for safe storage in the refrigerator.

Medication

Please read our Medication Policy for further information. Any medication brought into nursery/pre-school must be clearly labelled with your child’s name and date, and given to the Nursery Manager, who will ask you to sign a permission slip to administer that medication.

Policy and procedures

A copy of our policies and procedures for parents are available at each nursery/pre-school for you to view or take away.
