Credit Control Administrator
Happy Days Nurseries, a leading group of children’s day nurseries, are seeking a Credit Control Administrator to join our accounts department and play a crucial role in ensuring smooth financial operations for our nurseries.
About the Role
As Credit Control Administrator, you’ll be responsible for managing key financial processes to ensure efficiency within the department. You will monitor debtors, follow up on payments, and implement credit control procedures, ensuring provisions for bad debts are accurately maintained. Maintaining the sales ledger will be a fundamental part of your role, ensuring billing accuracy and assisting nursery managers with re-running invoices and checking unbilled sessions.
You will also be responsible for bank and cash management, efficiently posting receipts from various sources onto our system and conducting reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy. In addition to these core tasks, you will support nursery operations by conducting enrolment checks and managing records of active children, ensuring data integrity and compliance with processes.
Managing Early Years funding administration will be another key aspect, working closely with finance officers and nursery managers to support funding processes and maintain accurate parent declaration records. Your role will also include supporting the finance team with various ad hoc tasks, assisting in audit preparations, and contributing to department-wide improvements.
Beyond finance responsibilities, you will handle general administrative duties, maintain structured financial records, respond to queries professionally, and ensure all communications align with our service standards. Attending meetings and contributing ideas for efficiency improvements will also be part of your regular responsibilities, alongside archiving records as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
To excel in this role, you should have proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with a methodical approach to financial reconciliations and a strong commitment to meeting deadlines. The ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure is essential, along with excellent communication and customer service skills to handle queries from nursery managers and clients professionally. While prior experience in credit control and bad debt management is desirable, a proactive attitude and willingness to learn will be highly valued.
Why Join Us?
You’ll be joining a structured finance department with clear processes, working in a supportive team environment where your contributions make a meaningful difference. There will also be opportunities for professional development, ensuring continued growth within your career.
If you’re ready to take on this exciting finance role and contribute to the success of our nurseries, we’d love to hear from you!
