Nursery Practitioner – One to One Support
Happy Days Nursery in Charlton Heights is looking to recruit a level 3 qualified and experienced Nursery Practitioner to work on a 1 to 1 basis, 15 hours per week (3 mornings, 8am to 1pm, all year round), supporting a child with complex additional needs.
We are seeking someone with experience in supporting and managing an EHC plan, and that has experience in using AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) strategies and tools. Knowledge of Makaton is advantageous.
We are looking for someone who shares our enthusiasm for ensuring children experience a developmentally enriching early education and exceptional care.

A little bit about the role
- Build effective relationships and fully engage with children, parents and colleagues to deliver the best possible service and care
- Provide 1 to 1 care to a child with identified complex additional needs
- Observe, assess and plan to support the child’s individual needs
- Working with a range of other professionals to implement and robustly manage the EHC plan
What skills & experience do you need
- Evident enthusiasm for working with children and delivering high quality childcare/early years education
- Previous experience in SEND
- Ability to establish good relationships with parents and professionals
- Good understanding of the policies and practices within a childcare setting
- Knowledge of the EYFS and its practical application within a childcare setting
- Has a continuous learning ethos and dedication to maintaining and improving high standards
- Strong team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude
- Good, confident and honest communicator
- Demonstrates strong initiative and ability to think on their feet
