Happy Days Nursery at Penair in Truro unveiled its very own replica, child sized, Trafalgar roundabout this week. Complete with its own Shell Garage, carwash and even working traffic lights. This exciting new play area has been thoughtfully constructed to mimic the city’s busiest roundabout to allow children to explore and understand their local community.

Nursery Manager, Nicky Smith said “As part of our Early Years Curriculum the children get to enjoy a topic called Knowledge and Understanding of the World. As part of this topic the children learn and investigate the community that they live in. We have hand painted replica versions of the road signs the children can use which will encourage and help develop their literacy and numeracy skills.

The roundabout was officially opened by the Mayor of Truro John Tamblyn in front of an audience of parents and excited children.
