An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nursery Manager to join Happy Days Nursery, Thornbury, as Senior Nursery Manager.

We’re seeking a highly experienced manager, who will oversee the commercial and qualitative operation of our 81 place day nursery, situated in the heart of the community of the market town of Thornbury, Gloucestershire.

As Senior Nursery Manager you will play a vital role in helping us inspire the future for our children, by skilfully leading your team to deliver outstanding education outcomes for children using our unique curriculum “Where Children Shine”, coaching, mentoring and developing colleagues and providing exceptional care and customer service to children and families.

You will have a proven track record in the successful commercial running of a nursery, effectively managing parent enquiries, tours and enrolments, budget management, staff rostering, and recruitment, staff performance and wellbeing.

As Senior Nursery Manager you will be fully conversant in the welfare requirements and statutory framework and experienced in leading in OFSTED inspection.

Your roles and responsibilities as Senior Nursery Manager would include –

Performance

  • Embodying and embedding our SHINE values (Support, Honesty, Inspiration, Nurturing and Empowerment), ensuring the culture of your nursery aligns to that of our organisation.
  • Leading a diverse team of colleagues, ensuring exceptional quality and compliance with our policies, procedures and practices, and meeting our regulatory requirements without compromise.
  • Ensuring the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children within the setting by leading and managing our robust safeguarding procedures.
  • Implementing effective sales and marketing processes and strategies to ensure optimal occupancy levels.
  • Delivering excellent customer services throughout the entire customer journey, ensuring customer satisfaction and resolving complaints satisfactorily.
  • Managing the commercial performance of the nursery by ensuring cost efficiency, effective staff cost management and robust budget control

Outstanding Childcare

  • You’ll be an inspirational leader, ensuring that their care and development needs are being met at all times
  • Using our unique “Where Children Shine” curriculum to observe, plan and assess children’s learning opportunities
  • Understanding and implementing safeguarding, health and safety and welfare requirement policies and practices
  • Having an in depth understanding of OFSTED requirements and the ability to lead during an inspection or regulatory visit

Working with Others

  • Be a dedicated team player, and valuing the experience and skills of your colleagues
  • Continually striving to work together to deliver the very best care and education for the children
  • Supporting colleagues with empathy and care
  • Acting as mentor and line manager to all nursery colleagues
  • Managing recruitment processes, interviews, and selection processes
  • Working with our Support Centre colleagues

Requirements

  • Minimum Level 3 childcare qualification as defined by the EYQL
  • Level 2/GCSE mathematics qualification
  • Experience in managing the education, quality and commercial running of a large day nursery
  • Traceable employment and OFSTED/Regulatory activity.
