Feb 20, 2025

Farlington Day Nursery is delighted to announce that it has received a Good rating in its latest Ofsted inspection, reflecting the nursery’s commitment to providing a nurturing, stimulating and high-quality early years experience for every child.

The inspection praised the nursery for its welcoming and enjoyable environment, highlighting the strong, affectionate relationships built between staff and children. Inspectors observed children arriving confidently, eager to start their day, with younger children seeking reassurance from familiar adults and older children showing impressive independence and communication skills.

The report commended the nursery’s engaging, child-centred curriculum, designed to ignite curiosity and foster a love of learning. Children were seen exploring with confidence – from leading their own play to working together on outdoor bug hunts, sharing ideas and problem-solving as they went.

Inspectors noted the strong focus on developing children’s independence, with older children confidently pouring drinks, selecting cutlery and managing daily routines themselves. Staff were praised as positive role models, encouraging kindness, good behaviour and resilience in every child.

The Ofsted report also highlighted the nursery’s:
Commitment to professional development, with dedicated, qualified staff who continue to extend their knowledge through training.
Inclusive approach to SEND, working closely with professionals to provide targeted support and ensure all children thrive.
Active play opportunities, both indoors and outdoors, that help children develop strength, balance and coordination in fun, engaging ways.
Strong parent partnerships, with families recognising the progress their children make and the support offered with individual needs.

Nursery Manager [Insert Name] said:
“We are absolutely thrilled with our Good Ofsted rating. At Farlington, we strive every day to create a safe, inspiring ‘home from home’ environment where children can explore, be challenged, and develop a lifelong love of learning. This recognition is a true reflection of the passion and dedication of our incredible team.”

At the heart of Farlington Day Nursery’s ethos is a commitment to helping children grow into kind, independent and resilient learners. Through play-based, child-centred activities, practitioners skilfully support children to flourish – balancing freedom with gentle guidance to extend learning at the right moments.

The nursery team looks forward to building on this success, continuing to work closely with families and the community to provide the very best early years experiences.

Internet Safety Day!💻📲

To raise the children’s awareness of how to be safe on the internet, Claire and the children in Adventurers 2 at Droitwich discussed what this means to them through a short story!

Claire told the children the story of Sammy and an online game where she collected coins from helping complete tasks. Then one day another person joined the game and took all of Sammy’s coins. The children then spoke about different emotions and how that made Sammy feel. They then discussed how we protect our games and our tablets using passwords.

Feb 12, 2025

Happy Days Nurseries and Pre-Schools are delighted to be supporting Children’s Hospice South West in 2025, raising money with fundraising events throughout the year.

Children’s Hospice South West are dedicated to making the most of short and precious lives through the provision of the best possible hospice care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions. The care offered at each of their three hospices is not just about medical and nursing support for sick children but enriching lives of the children and their whole family.

They offer a home from home where families can take a short break away to re-charge their batteries in a homely, warm and welcoming environment. Providing a much-needed break from the ongoing strains of caring for their children at home, juggling professional and medical appointments as well as maintaining family life and employment. In the main, they provide the chance for families to get away from it all, but CHSW also offer emergency and palliative care in a peaceful and comfortable setting.

This year, Happy Days pledge to host events throughout the whole year, sponsor the Rainbow Run 2025 and even have colleagues skydiving out of planes and running half marathons.

Fiona Blackwell, Operations Director stated, “It is a pleasure to be contributing towards this special charity once again, helping to support local children and their families. As a company we believe every child should have the best start in life, which is why we donate via sponsorship as well as holding events throughout the year. We are truly grateful for our colleagues and families for their contributions to our fundraising efforts.”

Alice Merrett, Area Fundraiser for CHSW, said: “We’re so grateful for the continuous support received by Happy Days Nurseries. Not only have they made CHSW their charity of the year, again, they’re bringing their infectious energy and charisma to our Rainbow Run again this June. Thank you so much Happy Days, support from local businesses really means a lot to us.”

Happy Days Nurseries and Pre-Schools Partners With The National Lobster Hatchery

2 mins
Feb 05, 2025

Happy Days Nurseries and Pre-Schools are delighted to support The National Lobster Hatchery throughout 2025, raising money with fundraising events throughout the year.

The National Lobster Hatchery is a marine conservation, research and education charity based in Padstow, Cornwall, UK. It raises and nurtures baby lobsters, which are then released around the coasts of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly when they are approximately three months old. Impact on our marine resources is a much wider problem than just lobsters and their visitor centre hopes to broaden their message to address the key sustainability issues faced by our coastal fisheries.

Why this exciting partnership? Happy Days Nurseries and Pre-School cares for young people, whilst The National Lobster Hatchery cares for young lobsters. Not only this but Happy Days believes in making our planet a more sustainable place, a shared initiative with the hatchery.

After hosting a successful ‘Lobster Day’ on International Day Of Charity last year, Happy Days pledge to host a Lobster week during 2025 to raise as much needed funds as possible for this worthy charity as well as sponsoring them for the year.

Last year, the nursery that raised the most money for the hatchery was rewarded with a visit from the hatchery’s lobster technicians. Happy Days Nursery, Truro City raised over £70 for the Hatchery in just one day, they even adopted a family of 4x lobsters and named them after the Happy Days rooms. The children were thrilled by the visit, with technicians bringing baby lobsters for the children to observe. All of the children did an incredible job at listening to the technicians talk about the lobsters journey from the hatchery and back to the sea.

Nicola O’Donnell, C.O.O The National Lobster Hatchery stated, “From a tiny idea to a beautiful partnership, we are so delighted that we are working with Happy Days to combine their nurseries with ours. Both organisations support infants through their initial life stages, and both focused on education and sustainability. The beautiful and powerful parallels are an exciting opportunity to together make big waves in inspiring the next generation of ocean advocates. We are incredibly grateful to the Happy Days team and families for joining our mission and supporting our work in 2025 and beyond”

Following on from International Charity Day Wendy Potts, Early Years Operations Manager, stated, “International Day of Charity aims to raise awareness and give a platform to charity organisations around the world and my sites wanted to raise awareness for a local charity and the important work they do. When The National Lobster Hatchery contacted us to become a partner we jumped at the chance and chose International Day of Charity to start our fundraising activities. We look forward to continuing this partnership throughout 2025.”

You can make a donation to this amazing charity by clicking here, or to adopt a baby lobster like Happy Days Truro City did, click here. By supporting this cause, you’ll help us release more lobsters, educate, raise awareness, and inspire marine conservation!

Dec 11, 2024

Happy Days Nursery Yate, located within the new Ladden Garden Village development, Bristol, is celebrating having recently received a GOOD grading from Ofsted.

The Ofsted report highlights that ‘Leaders have designed a rich curriculum that inspires all children to learn. The curriculum is well sequenced and carefully designed to help children build on their knowledge and skills as they move from one room to the next.’

Furthermore, the report acknowledged that ‘The bespoke settling-in process helps children make strong attachments with staff when children start at the nursery.’

Zoe Seymour, Nursery Manager, stated, “We are delighted with our Ofsted result, after less than a year of being open it really does highlight the hard work, care and dedication from our amazing staff team. The bonds the team have built with the children, the emotional security they provide and the praise and encouragement they give were just a few of the things picked up during the inspection and I feel this whole report is a testament to the team. We are very proud of this achievement and excited for what is still to come.”

Early Years Operations Manager, Sam Richardson spoke on the fantastic news ‘I am delighted for Happy Days Yate, they have worked so hard to establish strong, meaningful bonds with the children in their care, it was wonderful that the inspector recognised this stating ‘staff work hard to establish close relationships with key children to foster a sense of trust and emotional security’. For the team to have received such positive feedback so shortly after opening shows how committed the team are to ensuring they meet every child’s needs.’
