This curriculum reflects the vision and values of Happy Days ensuring all children have the best possible start in life. We enable them to reach their full potential in becoming strong and motivated learners for life.

In England, this curriculum supports the delivery of the seven education programmes as defined within the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage. “Where Children Shine” is built up of four key aspects, underpinned by seven core Educational Programmes:

  • Communication and language
  • Physical Development
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design.

The four key aspects are:

Strong & Confident Communicator

The first of our key aspects helps the children in our care build confidence and communication skills. The programmes within this aspect support children to listen, understand and communicate, crucial for personal development both at school and throughout life. From book clubs to phonetic and musical learning, we employ a range of engaging techniques to help your child develop these key skills.

Inquisitive & Ambitious Thinker

This aspect of our curriculum focuses on the fostering of curiosity, understanding, and an appreciation of the natural world. Every nursery allows children to take part in STEM projects (science, technology, engineering, & mathematics) and integrates these concepts into their activities every day. This aspect also encompasses a detailed look at the importance of environmental issues and sustainability with hands-on activities.

Healthy, Independent Explorer

All about developing active healthy habits for the future, the aim of this aspect of the curriculum is to promote the importance of a healthy lifestyle and to encourage lifelong health. We incorporate sun safety, oral health, cooking, and exercise to ensure that healthy concepts are understood early and that your child can start to implement these concepts in day-to-day life.

Resilient & Motivated Individual

Focused on the sense of self, confidence, and building strong relationships, we support our children to build trust with our colleagues and their peers while promoting meditation, yoga, and mindfulness. Understanding the benefits of these activities early helps children to further understand self-care and mental health, which are rising concerns in the modern day.
