A Shoutout for Gemma at Happy Days Nursery Charlton Heights

At Happy Days Nursery & Pre-School in Charlton Heights, we’re passionate about celebrating the incredible team members who help our children shine every day. Today, we’d like to give a well-deserved shoutout to Gemma at Charlton Heights, one of our amazing Explorers Room practitioners.

Gemma joined us when we first opened our doors in June 2023 and is now close to completing her Level 3 Apprenticeship—and she’s thriving. With her warm, caring nature and infectious positivity, she’s become a valued member of our team.

One parent recently shared a heartfelt review that truly captures Gemma at Charlton Heights’s impact:

“It has only recently come to my knowledge that Gemma is an apprentice. My child, who struggled with separation anxiety when she was younger (and still has the odd moment now), found leaving me at nursery hard some days. Gemma has always been amazing with her, and seeing the relationship they share is lovely. We’re always updated well with how she’s getting on, and it’s just so lovely to see how happy she is in nursery now. We’re getting a bit nervous for her transition to the next room up, but I’m sure she’ll be fine (with Gemma’s help). Drop-offs and pick-ups are always a pleasure at nursery. Gemma is fab and has made the whole process easier for both of us.”

We couldn’t be prouder of Gemma and the difference she makes every day. She’s a wonderful example of how apprenticeships build confident, capable professionals who enrich our nursery community.

Green Flag Success for Happy Days Nursery & Pre-School, Charlton Heights!

We are thrilled to share that Happy Days Nursery & Pre-School, Charlton Heights in Charlton Hayes has officially achieved the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award, with Distinction!

This prestigious recognition celebrates the incredible efforts of our children and nursery colleagues in making our nursery more environmentally friendly, sustainable, and eco-aware. Since 1994, the Eco-Schools programme has empowered young people across the globe to take positive action for the planet and we’re proud to be part of that movement.

The initiative at our nursery was led by Megan and Amarta, who worked closely with the children and team to bring eco-conscious learning and projects into everyday life.

“I’m so proud of everything the children have achieved,” said Megan. “From learning about recycling to planting and caring for our garden, their enthusiasm and understanding of sustainability has been inspiring. This award is a reflection of everyone’s hard work and passion for protecting our planet.”

We now eagerly await the arrival of our official Green Flag and celebratory plaque, which we will proudly display at the nursery.

A huge thank you to our incredible Eco-Committee, colleagues, and families for supporting this journey. Together, we’re helping to create a greener future for the next generation.

Celebrating Hollie’s Promotion at Charlton Heights!

We are absolutely delighted to share the fantastic news of Hollie’s promotion at Charlton Heights — she has officially stepped into her new role as Adventurers Deputy Supervisor! Since joining our Happy Days Charlton Heights family in August 2023, Hollie has made an incredible impact with her passion, dedication, and the warm relationships she has built with children, families, and her fellow team members. Hollie’s promotion at Charlton Heights is a testament to her hard work and the love she brings to everything she does.

Steph, Nursery Manager at Charlton Heights, couldn’t be prouder of Hollie’s achievement. She shared: “Hollie knows the children inside out — she even knows all of their pets’ names! We are so grateful to have her as part of our team. She goes above and beyond every single day and is such a supportive colleague. We can’t wait to watch her career continue to flourish.”

Hollie’s natural warmth and her ability to build strong, trusting relationships with both children and parents have quickly made her a much-loved member of our nursery community. Whether it’s creating exciting activities in the Adventurers room, supporting her colleagues with a smile, or remembering the smallest details that make each child feel special, Hollie’s dedication shines through in everything she does.

Children at Happy Days Charlton Heights Enjoy Sunny Springtime Walk to Collect Easter Treats From Patchway Town Council

This morning, children from Happy Days Charlton Heights set off on a cheerful adventure, making the most of the sunny weather with a walk through the local community. Their destination was the Patchway Town Council offices, where a special surprise awaited them.

The visit was part of the nursery’s commitment to engaging with the wider community and creating memorable experiences for the children in their care. The children were warmly welcomed by staff at the Town Council offices, where they were presented with thoughtful Easter treats.

The children were full of excitement as they explored their surroundings and chatted about the Easter surprises they received. The walk itself was a lovely opportunity to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine, and the entire experience added to the sense of joy and celebration that Easter brings.
