Happy Days Nursery, Poole is delighted to announce the opening of its brand new baby room, a calm, nurturing, and beautifully designed space dedicated to the care and development of children under two. This expansion marks a significant milestone for the setting, enabling it to offer more places from September 2025, aligning perfectly with the introduction of the new government funding for working families with babies and toddlers.

This new room has been designed from the ground up with early brain development, wellbeing, and emotional security at its heart. It is a direct reflection of Happy Days’ commitment to creating safe, secure and inspiring spaces where children feel loved, settled and ready to learn.

A Thoughtfully Designed Environment for the Youngest Minds

From birth to age five, the brain forms up to 90% of its final structure. Recognising this critical window of growth, Happy Days has drawn on extensive research and decades of experience to shape a baby room that is purposefully warm, calm and sensory-aware.

Instead of overwhelming colours and noisy layouts, the new baby room is filled with soft, neutral tones and natural materials, designed to offer a serene environment that encourages focus, security and calm. This gentle aesthetic helps babies feel emotionally safe and free to explore, without the overstimulation often caused by busy, vibrant spaces.

Furniture and resources have been carefully curated from Early Years suppliers committed to safety, comfort, and sustainable manufacturing. Each item has been chosen to promote physical development, autonomy, and wellbeing, from low-level shelving that encourages independence to cosy, tactile nooks where babies can safely rest and observe.

Exploring the Benefits of Mealtimes at Happy Days Nurseries & Pre-Schools

We also offer a weaning menu, developed in consultation with families, to support babies as they transition to solid food.

The benefits of mealtimes also tie into our “Where Children Shine” curriculum. Our Let’s Cook! Programme encourages children to explore food through hands-on experiences, including preparing and cooking simple dishes using healthy ingredients. Research shows that when children are involved in food preparation, they are more likely to try and enjoy nutritious meals.

Additionally, our Let’s Grow! Programme provides opportunities for children to sow, tend, and harvest their own produce. Children are empowered to serve themselves during snack and mealtimes and are encouraged to clean their own plates at our low-level sinks. Our nursery kitchens are inspected regularly by Environmental Health departments to ensure food safety compliance, and all staff involved in food preparation have achieved a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
