Children at Happy Days Charlton Heights Enjoy Sunny Springtime Walk to Collect Easter Treats From Patchway Town Council

This morning, children from Happy Days Charlton Heights set off on a cheerful adventure, making the most of the sunny weather with a walk through the local community. Their destination was the Patchway Town Council offices, where a special surprise awaited them.

The visit was part of the nursery’s commitment to engaging with the wider community and creating memorable experiences for the children in their care. The children were warmly welcomed by staff at the Town Council offices, where they were presented with thoughtful Easter treats.

The children were full of excitement as they explored their surroundings and chatted about the Easter surprises they received. The walk itself was a lovely opportunity to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine, and the entire experience added to the sense of joy and celebration that Easter brings.

Happy Days Charlton Heights would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Patchway Town Council for their generosity and kindness. Opportunities like these help children develop a sense of belonging in their community and make lasting memories along the way.

The team at Happy Days are always looking for new ways to inspire learning beyond the nursery walls, and this sunny Easter outing was a perfect example of that in action.

Happy Days Nurseries and Pre-Schools expand to 35 sites with the acquisition of Junior’s Day Nursery

Happy Days Nurseries and Pre-Schools is delighted to have been given the opportunity to expand its portfolio further with the acquisition of Junior’s Day Nursery, increasing their portfolio to 35 settings across the South and South West.

Junior’s Day Nursery consists of four nurseries located in Kent, providing high quality childcare for over 10 years. Their ethos is to be the best childcare nursery in the areas they serve, offering outstandingly appointed, clean, safe facilities, that all include multi-sensory indoor and outdoor spaces as well as access to forest school activities.

Marcia Viccars, Merger & Acquisitions Director, said, “We are thrilled to be growing our portfolio again, reaching a milestone of 35 nurseries. This recent acquisition of these four fantastic nurseries in Kent shows our commitment to expand further into the south east of England and we are looking forward to building on this.”

Kim Herbert, Managing Director for Happy Days Nurseries and Pre-Schools added,“ Junior’s Day Nursery is a perfect fit for Happy Days. Their values and beliefs of providing children with the very best care and education align with our own. The staff team will remain in place, and we look forward to working with them to support children to become strong and motivated learners for life and provide a top-class service to enable parents to work and live their daily lives knowing their children are cherished and cared for to the highest standard.”

Denise Fuller, outgoing owner of Junior’s commented, “After 16 years of dedicated service in providing high-quality education to children across four settings, it was imperative for me to identify a successor who would uphold the values and ethos of Junior’s while continuing to deliver the exceptional standard of care and education that our families have come to expect. Following extensive research into many prospective buyers I am confident that I have made the right choice with Happy Days Nurseries, and they make a great fit for the new ownership of Junior’s, maintaining the excellent reputation and legacy that Junior’s has worked so hard to achieve over the years. I wish Happy Days Nurseries all the best in their future endeavours.”

The sale was facilitated by specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, with Sophie Willcox, Childcare & Education at Christie & Co, commenting, “Working with Denise has been a pleasure from start to finish. She has built an impressive, well-respected group that I knew would receive a lot of interest, and I am delighted to have found the right buyers to look after her team and carry on her legacy.”

Happy Days Nurseries and Pre-Schools continue to actively seek opportunities to grow their portfolio. Happy Days Penair Discovers The Life Cycle Of A Butterfly

From Caterpillar to Butterfly – A Magical Journey at Happy Days Penair

Over the past month, the children at Happy Days Penair have been on an incredible learning adventure, discovering the wonders of life cycles. This learning is part of our commitment to the global Eco-Schools programme, which empowers children to develop a deeper understanding of environmental issues through hands-on experiences.

Inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar, the children were fascinated by how a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly. To bring this to life, the nursery raised their own butterflies. Each day, during Eco Meetings, the children closely observed each stage of the transformation—watching the caterpillars grow, form chrysalises, and eventually emerge as butterflies.

This morning brought a magical moment: the butterflies had emerged! The children fed them fresh fruit before gently releasing them into the woodland area, sending them off on their next adventure.

We’ve captured the children’s reflections and excitement in a short video—filled with awe, joy, and butterfly facts.

About Eco-Schools at Happy Days

Each year, all Happy Days settings work towards their Eco-Schools Green Flag accreditation by following a seven-step framework. This empowers children to engage with sustainability, develop lifelong environmental values, and take practical action to protect the planet.

Happy Days Nursery Charlton Heights Food Bank Donation for Red Nose Day 2025

Happy Days Nursery Charlton Heights has once again demonstrated its commitment to community support with a food bank donation for Red Nose Day 2025. The nursery encouraged families to contribute essential food items to St. Chad’s Food Bank, helping local people in need.

Happy Days Nursery Charlton Heights Supports Food Bank Donation

Between 21st and 31st March, families at Happy Days Nursery Charlton Heights donated much-needed supplies, including Easter eggs, fruit juice, tinned ham, long-life milk, tinned tomatoes, packet rice, dog food, instant coffee, and tinned vegetables. These items were carefully selected based on the Food Bank’s requests to support individuals and families facing hardship.

Children Deliver Food Bank Donations to St. Chad’s Church

On Thursday, 3rd April, the pre-school children took an active role in delivering the donations, proudly pushing a trolley filled with goods from the nursery to St. Chad’s Church. Upon arrival, they were met with a warm welcome from Rev. David Brae, who expressed his heartfelt gratitude:

“We are so grateful for the kindness you have shown. It will make such a difference to people’s lives. These are tough times, and your generosity lets those who are struggling know that there are people who care. Thank you so much.”

A Lesson in Kindness and Community

Stephanie Jones, Nursery Manager, shared how meaningful the experience was for the children:

“It was wonderful watching the children see the donations grow each day and hearing them walk past saying, ‘Wow!’ We spoke to them about the importance of helping those in need. Kindness and compassion are values that run through everything we do at our nursery.”

Taking the Jump for Children’s Hospice South West!

1 mins
Mar 07, 2025

At Happy Days Nurseries & Pre-Schools, we are proud to support Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) in the incredible work they do for children with life-limiting conditions and their families. Each year, we take part in their Rainbow Run, but this September, one of our own is taking fundraising to new heights—15,000 feet to be exact!

Alice, our Digital Marketing Executive, will be skydiving to raise money for CHSW, a charity that has become very close to her heart. After visiting Little Harbour as part of her role at Happy Days, she was deeply moved by the love, care, and support the hospice provides. Now, she’s ready to take a literal leap of faith to help ensure CHSW can continue delivering their vital services.

Skydiving from 15,000 feet and freefalling at 120mph is no small challenge, but Alice is determined to make every second count for this amazing cause. With a fundraising target of £500, she’s calling on friends, family, and the Happy Days community to support her in reaching this goal. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference:

£20 will help to provide 1 hour of vital care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions.

£450 could fund three days of Music Therapy, helping children express their thoughts and emotions.

£900 could fund a children’s nurse for a full week.

£1,500 could provide 24 hours of round-the-clock care for a child nearing the end of life.

Happy Days has supported CHSW for years, sponsoring the paint station at the Rainbow Run for seven years running. Last year, Alice took part in the event herself, witnessing first hand the impact of the hospice’s work and the generosity of those who support it. Now, she’s taking things a step further—or rather, a jump higher!

Please join us in supporting Alice and wishing her the best of luck as she takes to the skies for this incredible cause!
